We opened on March 5, 1950 as an official Assembly of God church. Prior to 1950, worshipers were gathering in a small house just down the road from our present location. The house which is no longer there was said to belong to Brother Ernest B. Hawkins and his wife Sister Jewell Hawkins. The Hawkins donated the land on which the church would be built. Originally the church only consisted of one large room with wooden pews and a wood stove in the center. Two outhouses were constructed behind the building with one being male and the other being female. The female outhouse is still standing today.The building has since underwent numerous additions including the addition of indoor restrooms(presently we have four,lol)We have been gathering together and worshiping the Lord for over 60 years now. The church is glad to serve the local community as a light to the lost. We welcome everyone to come and join us for our services.
